The UK's leading professional association for disability and inclusivity practitioners in further and higher education.
The National Association of Disability Practitioners (NADP) is the professional association for those working in tertiary education who support disabled students and staff. We promote excellence in post-16 disability inclusion through professional development, resources, networking, and advocacy, ensuring practitioners have the knowledge and community they need to make a meaningful difference.
NADP's core values underpin our mission and commitment to enhancing professional standards of staff dedicated to disability equality in post-compulsory education.
Developing independent autonomous learning, promoting positive models of disability equality, and creating inclusive environments within a Universal Design for Learning framework.
Strategic engagement, high-quality student support, relevant publications including our peer-reviewed journal, and continuous mentoring and evaluation of professional practice.
Access to disability-specific knowledge, understanding of FE and HE environments, expertise in academic adjustments and interventions, and knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks.
Founded in 2001, the National Association of Disability Practitioners began as a small network of professionals committed to improving support for disabled students in further and higher education. Over the past 25 years, we have grown into the UK's leading professional body for disability and inclusivity practitioners.
What started as informal peer support has evolved into a comprehensive professional association offering accreditation, training, resources, and advocacy. Throughout our history, we have remained dedicated to our founding principle: ensuring that disabled students and staff can fully participate in and benefit from post-compulsory education.
Today, NADP represents over 1,000 practitioners across the UK and internationally, providing a voice for the profession and driving forward best practice in disability inclusion.
NADP operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC), registered in England. As a CIC, we are a social enterprise that uses our resources to benefit the community we serve: disability and inclusivity practitioners and, ultimately, disabled students and staff in further and higher education.
We are governed by a Board of Directors elected by our membership, ensuring that NADP remains accountable to and representative of the practitioners we serve.
NADP is not a public body and is therefore not subject to Freedom of Information Act requirements. However, we are committed to transparency and openness. If you require information, please contact us and we will help where we can.
