The Deb Viney Award
Recognising an individual practitioner for their outstanding contribution to disabled students and staff.
The NADP Awards celebrate excellence in disability and inclusivity practice across further and higher education. Each year, we recognise individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to improving the experiences of disabled students and staff. Award winners are announced in April/May and presented at our annual conference in June.
Two awards are open for member nominations and one is selected by the NADP Board to honour sustained excellence.
Recognising an individual practitioner for their outstanding contribution to disabled students and staff.
Celebrating a disability team for exceptional work, research, or new initiatives.
Honouring sustained excellence throughout a career in the disability field.
This year we are proud to recognise three exceptional professionals for the Annual NADP Awards. Their work exemplifies leadership, integrity, and impact in disability support and inclusive education in a way that stood out from the rest of the nominations – which is saying something!
The Deb Viney Award
University of the Arts London
Carys was recognised as a champion for the rights of disabled students and staff – someone driving real change both within and beyond her formal role. Now working in educational development, Carys has expanded inclusive staff training at her institution, contributed to national networks, and shared original research across the sector. Her nominator wrote: “When presented with challenges, we ask ourselves, ‘What would Carys do?’”
The Service Team Award
Disability & Inclusion Team
This team bowled us over with their scale, innovation, and deep commitment to personalised support, even while operating across 20+ campuses! They not only model inclusive practice internally, but also contribute to national initiatives and produce research that informs policy and practice, including new evidence pathway and benchmarking work.
